Yesterday my friends at the JOE’S Jeans Fashion Valley store invited me in to play dress up with their new spring arrivals in anticipation of their Friends & Family night, happening Thursday, March 20. This just might be the most beautiful store in all of Fashion Valley Mall, with light pouring in and with a perfectly intimate setting, you’re in an exceptional personal shopping experience. Maritza, Saulo, and Isaac went to work immediately, pulling items from their new spring collection, while I ran around the store, digging through their amazing selection of kids jeans and extraordinarily soft linen basics.
Look 1: I couldn’t help but sneak a little camo into the shoot, with these kid’s jeans adding an unexpected pop of navy camouflage to a simple striped button-down, neutral scarf, and (of course) a glamorous burgundy fedora. I love the way their kid’s denim fits me; with plenty of stretch, they manage to conform to my body without the tell-tale signs of looking like kid’s denim. And they make my legs look 6 feet long, which is always a plus.
Look 2: Experimenting with blush denim, these coated jeans worked perfectly rolled up and were a great straight leg fit. This denim was comfy, stretchy, and moved with me, and I can easily see these working for the weekend and late night. They have just the right amount of sheen and texture to make them visually interesting – and are versatile enough to pair with your breezy button-downs as well as fancy silks. I wanted to add a little 90s grunge to my look (I can’t believe the decade is back en vogue), so I grabbed an oversized flannel and layered it over a lace tank. I felt straight out of a Nirvana concert, yet somehow sophisticated and updated for 2014.

Look 3: I loved these jeans. Soft, unique coloring, and the boyfriend fit was spot on, perfectly on trend and a definite must have this season. I love how fashionable boyfriend jeans are this year, and encourage everyone to start seeking out their perfect pair. A great pair of boyfriend jeans will work with your wardrobe and through all your events, from date night to family brunch. I love to feminize my boyfriend jeans, with pointed toe flats and a delicate eyelet topper. This fit comes in multiple colors, and I was hard pressed not to buy them all. Seriously, go buy these pants right now. I’m still dreaming about them.
